Case Examples

Our 20 case examples present real-life information-sharing situations involving youth, parents, schools, and law enforcement, juvenile justice, mental health, and child welfare agencies. In each example, information about a child or children is being sought. Each case example clarifies which laws are relevant to the situation, what the laws permit and prohibit, and how the professionals involved can proceed legally. The Juvenile Law Center contributed to the development of these case examples.
